Success
After the Senior Staff presentation on Friday I have a new respect for the group that leads our division. My team members came correct and all brought their A-game. Thank God, the technology worked and the transitions were seamless. Although we used three tools, they were extremely well received--a sometimes wordy group(except for our mist in our sist) we were all masters of Marzano's top strategy "Summarization" It was a good feeling to be the perfect tag team on a day when we only got one shot.

i'd like to hear more about the experience - when i realized how you guys were working it, i was concerned that the group might be a bit overwhelmed, but it sounds like it worked. do you think you/we made any promises that will be hard to keep? what might success with this region do to lead to success in other regions? you've seemed a bit half-empty recently, good to hear you half-full again :)
ReplyDeleteAs you know brain research says to keep folks engaged, you make a switch after 8-10 minutes--we cut it to about 5 and it worked. MH threw out some pertinent information and let it hang--it was a good hook. Starting off with Sharon was great--they respect her so much and she was once one of them. Stephen did a nice link to Ning (with teacher response) and I explained moodle and showed the intro and accountability through the self checks. It was so smooth it just worked-but the kicker ended up being a principal who sang Palooza praises. She said the only negative thing was that she couldn't get to every session. "it was phenomenal" It couldn't have been any better if we had provided a script.
ReplyDeleteI just love it when a plan comes together.
It is wonderful to hear that Palooza has made such an impact that months later, people are still giving it kudos!
